Swallowtail

It's finally done. I don't even remember the last time I had as much fun and difficulties colouring a picture. And I don't even know how on earth I got the idea to draw her butterfly wings, instead of the more typical feathered ones.

I tried using light colours for this, and avoided using black. I even kept the grey and burnt umber to a bare minimum. It's been quite a while since the last time I've been as satisfied with the colouring, as I am with this one.

I drew this with mechanical pencil, inked it with fineliners, coloured it with colour pencils and finished the details with a white gel pen.

And for obvious reasons, this drawing resulted in a cuteness overdose, so you can expect something a lot darker and sinister from my next drawing.
